How To Create Swap Partition

Swap-Partition
Swap section allows you to expand your phone memory, allows more applications to run simultaneously at the expense of performance.
Do we need a swap on android? android application can "sleep" and recover, in the same condition quietly and without user intervention.

Instructions for connecting and swap-partition on the card.
(If you do not know what a swap partition and how to make one - stop, you do not need a swap)

You will need:
1. Rooted Android Phone
2. Busybox (Install from Busybox Installer)
3. Recovery
4. A kernel with swap support
5. Swapper2, Quick System Info (download Swapper2, quick system info)
6. Swap-partition on the memory card sd (256MB partition)

Creating a swap-partition:
1. Save all data from memory card to your computer! (Sd card is formatted)
2. Create a swap-partition (get into recovery mode)
We provide:
• Partition sdcard
• Partion. SD
• The size of ext - (1024mb)
• The size of swap - 256mb
3. Wait until the end of the formatting - reboot phone
4. Install Swapper 2 (move from pc to sdcard)
5. Open the application
6. Go to settings - tick the box Run swapper at startup / Safe Remount / Safe Unmount. (tick)
7. In the Menu, set Swappiness point 30.
8. Go to the Advanced preferences - There's a tick Use Swap Partition. (tick)
9. In paragraph Swap partition to register /dev/block/vold/179:2 (2 - means the second partition on the flash drive)
10. Put two ticks Recreate swap file / Reformat swap. (untick)
11. Exit setup and press the "On".
12. Inscription on Turning swap off (partition) FAIL and the following line does not pay attention (if “Turning swap off (partition) FAIL” show up, ignore it)
13. Check with Quick System Info - see Memory (RAM)

Important!
1. The Tutorial is 100% working, tested by me.
2. Swap can shorten sd card life span
3. DO IT ON YOUR OWN RISK
4. If the partition is not showing up. Try to change
/dev/block/vold/179:2 ----to---- /dev/block/vold/179:3
5. If it still not working, repeat the steps again and make sure that you have followed the tutorial correctly.
